iOS software reviews

I was inspired by a post on MondayNote about reviews of iOS apps and thought I could help.  I love iOS apps, and download a few apps every week.  Anything under $3 is in the realm of impulse buy -- less than a latte -- and I'll give it a whirl.  Plus I have 2 boys that love almost every game that shows up on their devices (thank you iCloud and automatic downloading).

First up is HeroAcademy

it's a great, turn based strategy game where you pick your army (Humans or Dark Elves) and go to battle, with the goal of destroying the enemy crystal(s) or, alternately, destroying the enemy army.  The turns play like WordsWithFriends -- where you can have multiple games running at the same time as you wait for your opponents to make their move.  My son and I had about 6 games going with each other last weekend at the same time.

The game is free, but you'll really want to get rid of the ads (they interrupt every turn) by purchasing the Dark Elves army or some custom items like team colors and avatars.  It's nice because you can sort of pick how much money to give the developers.

success

Success and failure. We think of them as opposites, but they're really not. They're companions - the hero and the sidekick.
